Office Depot closing last two Winnipeg stores
WINNIPEG — Office Depot’s last two Winnipeg stores will be closing on June 11 as part of a country-wide purge.
The manager of the retail chain’s Ness Avenue store confirmed that all nine of the company’s Canadian stores, including the two here, will cease operations on June 11.
But he declined further comment, referring inquiries to a company spokesman in the chain’s Florida headquarters. That person could not be reached for comment.
The office furniture and supplies retailer has been closing stores in Canada and the United States for a number of years. It has had a presence in Canada since 1992 when it acquired the Great Canadian Office Supplies Warehouse chain, which had seven stores in Western Canada.
