Olympic hockey teams to play in Winnipeg
WINNIPEG - Olympic hockey is coming to Manitoba in February.
The national men’s hockey teams from Switzerland and Belarus, who will be competing in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, will play a pair of exhibition games at MTS Centre on Feb. 9 and Feb. 11, 2010. The men’s team from Switzerland is coached by Ralph Krueger of Steinbach.
Switzerland’s women’s hockey team will also visit Winnipeg that week and play two exhibition games. The Swiss women’s team will take on Balmoral Hall Blazers preparatory team on Feb. 5 at the Dakota Community Centre and meet the University of Manitoba Bisons on Feb. 8 at Max Bell Arena.
The men’s game on Feb. 9 will be played at 7:30 p.m. while the Feb. 11 game has been billed a "schools’ game" since it will be held at 11:30 a.m. and local schools will be encouraged to bring their students to watch.
Registered schools will receive a complimentary lunch and game-day lineup sheet for all students in attendance, and will be entered in a draw for a chance to have an Olympic athlete visit their school.
Tickets for the games at MTS Centre, hosted by True North Sports & Entertainment, the Province of Manitoba and Sport Manitoba, go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone at (204) 780-3333, or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.
The cost will be $14 for adults and $8 for children aged 12-and-under.

Neither team is considered a contender for Gold but each has a few NHL players at their disposal. For $14 it's a pretty good deal. And you can say you saw an Olympic exhibition game live.

Stokes how is it misleading? I too would have loved to see Team Canada (assuming that's who you thought were coming) but it doesn't say that in the title. Yeah, it's "just" Switzerland and Belarus especially if you were hoping for Team Canada vs. Team USA, but if they are Olympic bound then the title is not misleading. Maybe sad and unfortunate, but not misleading.

Do you have any idea how misleading the title of this story is? I leaped out of my seat when I read it only to find out it is Switz and Belarus. Awesome.
