One dead, two injured after truck hits train near Anola

One man is dead and a man and woman are in hospital with undetermined injuries after a pickup truck ran into the side of a train near Anola early this morning.

RCMP say the truck was heading northbound on Edgewood Road when it hit the westbound CN freight train, at a crossing marked with crossing signs and a stop sign. The crossing is south of Highway 15, about eight kilometers west of Anola. RCMP responded to the scene at around 2:30 a.m.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor.

RCMP are not releasing any names.
