Original Wiggles bringing farewell tour to town

Preschoolers and their parents can wave goodbye to the original Wiggles on Oct. 22 when the Australian quartet comes to the MTS Centre on its farewell tour.

The touring show, Celebration, reunites original Yellow Wiggle Greg with Anthony, Jeff and Murray for their final tour together as the Wiggles. After 21 years of entertaining, Murray, Greg and Jeff have decided to hang up their jerseys in 2013.

They will hand over the purple, red and yellow costumes to a new generation and take on backstage creative roles. Anthony will stay in the group as the Blue Wiggle.

"We want to thank all our Wiggly fans — it’s been a great ride in our big red car," Jeff said in a news release. "We are really looking forward to saying farewell and having one last dance with everyone."

Tickets, priced at $15.50, $25.50, $42.50 and $75.50, go on sale Aug. 13 at Ticketmaster.

A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to UNICEF.
