Overnight robberies investigated

Winnipeg Police are investigating a pair of robberies involving a gas bar and a convenience store.

The first robbery happened Friday night when a lone male entered a gas bar in the 3300 block of Portage Avenue. The man demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money from the male clerk and then fled the store. 

The second robbery involved a convenience store in the 900 block of Lorette Avenue around 4 a.m. this morning. A lone male suspect armed with a weapon made off with cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets. 

The major crimes unit is investigating and are requesting anyone with information to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
