Pair allegedly responsible for string of break-ins

Two people are in custody following an investigation into several residential break-ins over the last two months.

A total of 14 homes were robbed between Dec. 20, 2013 to Feb. 11 of this year. Winnipeg police finally caught up to the suspects following another break and enter at a residence in the 200 block of McKay Avenue earlier this week.

During these incidents, over $21,000 of property (electronics, jewellery, cash and credit cards) was stolen. Police indicate the stolen credit cards were also used to purchase items. Damage to the residences is estimated at $10,000.

Stewart James Duncan, 42, and Brady Elizabeth Kara Laverdure, 25, are facing numerous charges.

Both have been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
