Pair busted for drugs at South Beach hotel
WINNIPEG - Mounties picking up a man who’d allegedly breached bail conditions suddenly found themselves with a drug bust earlier this week.
Selkirk RCMP executed an arrest warrant in a hotel room at the South Beach Casino and Resort in Scanterbury Wednesday, for a man facing outstanding drug and weapons charges, Const. David Obirek said this afternoon.
The man and a woman found with him were in possession of controlled substances, police say — 70 Oxycodone pills with an approximate street value of $1,400, a small amount of crack cocaine, approximately 15 grams of marijuana, and more than $400 in cash.
A 22-year-old Selkirk man and a 19-year-old Selkirk woman face numerous drug charges. They’re in the Remand Centre in Winnipeg awaiting a court appearance Monday.
