Witnesses say a woman in "her 70s" was struck and killed by a semi-trailer truck Monday afternoon at the corner of Jubilee Avenue and Osborne Street.

Emergency crews were still at the scene at 6 p.m., nearly three hours after the woman was struck.

A body was covered by a yellow tarp in the intersection of Osborne and Jubilee, and a large semi-trailer truck was parked nearby.

Police still have several streets closed while officers investigate the crash.

Southbound Osborne is closed at Morley Avenue, while northbound Osborne is down to one lane.

Eastbound Jubilee is closed at Nassau Street.

Police say the closures will be in effect for several hours, and motorists are encouraged to completely avoid the area.
