Penguins coming to Assiniboine Park Zoo

Assiniboine Park Zoo just got a polar bear, and now it’s getting some more special visitors.
The zoo will, for the first time, be host to a group of African black-footed penguins, the zoo announced Friday.
The penguins will be at the park for a limited time this spring and summer, as part of the HUB Horizon Insurance Penguin Cove.
"This is something completely new for Winnipeg and the Assiniboine Park Zoo so we’re very excited about it," Tim Sinclair-Smith, director of Zoological Operations said in a release.
The exhibit will also talk about conservation efforts underway for penguins in the wild. It will be a self-contained ecosystem for the penguins, according to the release, and visitors will be able to see the approximately 40 cm tall animals above and below water.
