Pepper-spray used in Maples home invasion

WINNIPEG - Three people were pepper-sprayed in a home invasion Sunday night in the Maples area of Winnipeg.

Police said two men entered a home in the 100 block of Filkow Bay at about 9:30 p.m. and confronted three occupants.

One of the intruders discharged a can of pepper spray in the direction of the victims, causing them significant discomfort, police said.

The second man stole a purse inside the home before fleeing the area. Police said they were able to recover some of the items.

The victims were treated for their injuries by medical personnel.

The investigation is continuing, police said. No further information was available.
