  • Print

A 26-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with an incident earlier this month when a man photographed or video recorded a woman from underneath her dress at a Regent Avenue West clothing store.

The man was taken into custody on Wednesday at about 11:20 a.m. when he was located by police in the area of Guy Savoie Drive and Shady Shores Drive in the Transcona area.

The incident had occurred on July 4 at about 8 p.m. when a 23-year-old woman had contacted police reporting that a man had come up to her from behind in the store located in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West. The man looked up her dress and then used a cellular device to make a recording.

The woman confronted him and he fled from the store.

The East District Crime Unit was able to identify the suspect during the investigation. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
