Police bust alleged dial-a-dealer
Winnipeg police busted what they call a dial-a-dealer behind the wheel of an SUV this weekend.
Police investigating an alleged North End dial-a-dealer conducted a traffic stop at about 8 a.m. at Redwood Avenue and Charles Street, the Winnipeg Police Service reported. Officers saw illegal drugs inside an SUV and arrested the five people in the vehicle, police said.
Police seized 4.5 grams of cocaine worth approximately $360 on the street, spokesman Jason Michalyshen said.
The five people arrested face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
"I can’t say it’s a family-based business, but two of the people had the same last name and another two also had the same last name. There might be some relationship between some of them," Michalyshen said.
