WINNIPEG — Police have arrested a 52-year-old man in connection with robberies at two financial institutions in the past week.

The most recent robbery occurred Monday afternoon when a man fled a financial institution in the 200-block of Portage Avenue with an undisclosed amount of cash after he had threatened a clerk.

Police believe the same individual was involved in the robbery of a financial institution Feb. 5 in the 1200 block of Portage Avenue. The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash after demanding money from a clerk.

Police said the man was arrested late Monday night and charged with two counts of robbery. He is being held at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
