Beating victim's condition upgraded

A 19-year-old man who is recovering in hospital after a vicious assault has been upgraded to stable, but serious condition. Winnipeg police said the 19-year-old was taken to hospital in critical condition Friday morning after three men beat him in the upper body and stole his sweater and baseball cap. The assault occurred around 1:30 a.m. after an argument started between the victim and the three other men. Police arrested and detained three men in connection with the beating. Neil Flett, 19, Simon Darcy Watt, 21, and Elijah Joe Spence, 21, face charges of aggravated assault and robbery.
