The Winnipeg police homicide unit is investigating after two bodies were found inside a Wolseley rooming house.

Winnipeg police said today officers went to a suite inside 210 Chestnut Street and found the two at 7:50 a.m.

Police said the pair have now been confirmed dead and are continuing to investigate.

Police said no further details will be released today.

Earlier, police would only confirm they were on a "medical call" after putting yellow tape around the house where the bodies were found.

Neighbours say the two-and-a-half-storey house has been troubled with late night noise and police have been called there several times in the recent past.

One resident said there had been a "bad smell" emanating from the house in recent days.
