Police investigating possible axe assault

Police are investigating an assault that may have involved an axe.

On Friday night, several suspects went to a residence on Fuga Bay, and police believe one of them brought along an axe.

Three men, aged 17, 19, and 42, who were in the home were assaulted. The incident happened around 11:40 p.m. and the suspects are believed to have fled in a vehicle. When Winnipeg police and paramedics got on the scene, they discovered one of the victims had sustained an upper-body injury. All victims are now in stable condition.

"Our challenge right now is that our victims are not being forthcoming with information at this point," said Winnipeg Police Spokesperson Const. Jason Michalyshen.

The incident is under investigation by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit. No suspects have been taken into custody.
