Body found in Red River

The man’s remains were pulled from the water in the early afternoon and the criminal investigations bureau is now investigating.

The man’s remains were pulled from the water in the early afternoon and the criminal investigations bureau is now investigating.

The remains of a man’s body were found floating in the Red River Saturday morning, and police are now trying to determine the man’s identity.

At about 10:15 a.m, police were dispatched to the river bank near Henderson Highway and Valhalla Drive after a someone spotted what looked like a torso floating in the water.

A private citizen with a boat took officers out to the body before the Winnipeg Police boat arrived.

The man’s remains were pulled from the water in the early afternoon and the criminal investigations bureau is now investigating.
