Winnipeg police today identified 55-year-old Hank Louis Lecoy as the city's 28th homicide victim.

On Tuesday, police responded to the Manitoba Housing complex at 375 Assiniboine Avenue to check on the well being of a man. Police said officers found a deceased man who had sustained trauma to his upper body.

Members of the homicide unit were notified, and the results of an autopsy are pending.

A woman who lives in the Assiniboine Avenue building said Lecoy lived on the building's 16th floor. Police were still on scene this morning.
