Police make arrest in fatal stabbing

Winnipeg police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing of a young father of two.
Winnipeg Police Const. Jason Michalyshen said the man was taken to the Winnipeg Remand Centre this morning and will appear before a magistrate sometime today.
Police are expected to release more details at a press conference at 11 a.m.
A 24-year-old man was stabbed at the back of a residence in the 500 block of Manitoba Avenue Friday morning.
Family and friends identified the victim as Derek Robert Spence.
His death is the city’s 16th homicide of 2010.
