Police make quick arrests after vehicle jacking

Two men have been arrested after a woman was attacked and her vehicle stolen outside her St. Vital home on Monday night.

The woman was returning home to the 1st 100 block of Clayton Drive about about 9:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening, upper-body injuries.

Winnipeg police located the stolen vehicle a few hours later at abut 12:30 a.m. in the area of Doncaster Street and Ubique Crescent and made the arrests.

Bashir Azizi, 19, and Deepanker Sharma, 24, both of Winnipeg are facing numerous robbery-related charges and have been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
