Body of male found near steps of block on King

Police are investigating the death of a male whose body was found early today in front of an apartment complex in the 400 block of King Street.

Police and other emergency personnel responded about 8 a.m. to a call to check on the wellbeing of a person located there.

The circumstances of the death and the identity of the deceased male have not yet been confirmed

Members of the Winnipeg police homicide unit are involved in the investigation.

Anyone with information about this matter is asked to call police at 204-986-6508 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Traffic was shut down on a short stretch of King during the investigation.

There is yellow tape around a green space near the corner of King and Stella Walk.
