A man and a woman taken into police custody during an incident near a North End school have been released without being charged.
On Wednesday morning, Winnipeg police took two people into custody after investigating a report of a man armed with a weapon on St. John's Avenue. During a standoff that lasted several hours, nearby Faraday Elementary School was locked down.
The pair has since been released, Const. Eric Hofley of the Winnipeg Police Service said Thursday.
"We're still looking for the other person," he said.
