Police searching for attacker

The Winnipeg police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who attacked a woman Wednesday afternoon near the Slaw Rebchuk bridge.

A 36-year-old woman said she was walking in the Logan Avenue and Isabel Street area at about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon when she was grabbed from behind by a man who tried to pull her into a stopped SUV.

She resisted and the man took off in his SUV.

The suspect is described as an Asian man, in his 20s, 5-foot-6 tall, chubby build, short black messy hair, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

The SUV is described as a black, older model Blazer, with rust over the passenger side wheels.

The SUV was last seen travelling north over the Slaw Rebchuk bridge.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 204-986-6668 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
