  • Print

Winnipeg police are looking for a 50-year-old man after a 10-year-old girl was approached by a stranger on Friday afternoon in Westwood and offered a ride.

The girl was walking near the intersection of Sansome Avenue and Rouge Road around noon when she was approached by a man in a white van. She didn’t speak with the man and continued on her way to school, where she reported the incident to her teacher.

The man is described as black, about 50 years old, short, bald but with curly hair on the sides and having yellow and broken teeth. He spoke in a deep voice and had no accent. He was wearing a black jacket or sweater.

The van is described as white with tinted windows, rust along the bottom and scratches along the side.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspect is asked to contact the police or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
