Police shut down grow op on Carmen Avenue

A grow operation in Elmwood of 15 marijuana plants, money and equipment was taken down by police Wednesday morning.

The grow op was in a residence in the first 100-block of Carman Avenue.

Seized at 9:15 a.m. were the 15 plants with an estimated street value of $16,800, 200 grams of dry marijuana with an estimated street value of 2,000, grow op equipment worth $3,000 and $2,263 in Canadian currency.

A 47-year-old female and a 48-year-old male were arrested for their alleged involvement and face charges of production of a controlled substance, possession a substance for the purposes of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Both were released on a promise to appear in court.
