Portage cabbie stabbed, cab stolen

A 22-year-old Portage la Prairie cabbie was stabbed when two men stole his cab on Wednesday night.

Portage RCMP said today the cabbie was driving two men when they suddenly attacked him and sped off in his cab at about 9 p.m.

The man was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP spotted the cab on the Trans Canada Highway but it got away.

Police are asking the public to look for a 2006 grey Nissan Sentra cab with a "Classic Shuttle" emblem on the side. The licence number is GMS 814.
