More than 1,000 homes in the Sandy Lake area will have their power cut for about 90 minutes this morning.
Manitoba Hydro is advising of the planned blackout, which is needed for their crews to do some maintenance work at the Sandy Lake substation.
The area is located south of Riding Mountain National Park in western Manitoba.
Electricity will go off at 10 a.m. and is expected to be back on at 11:30 a.m.
The communities of Sandy Lake, Elphinstone, Rackham, Keesekowenin First Nation, Rolling River First Nation, and the rural areas surrounding Sandy Lake will be affected by the outage.
That totals about 1,020 customers, Hydro said. They have information about how to prepare for a power outage on their website at hydro.mb.ca.
