Power restored after downtown Winnipeg in dark
Manitoba Hydro has its fingers crossed that the power will stay on all night.
Power went off to some of its largest downtown customers just after 5 p.m., but was restored around 7:40 p.m. by shifting to alternate feeders, said spokesman Glenn Schneider.
Crews are still looking for the cause, said Schneider.
Power was off from Ellice to St. Mary Avenue, and Langside to Carlton, affecting the University of Winnipeg, Portage Place, and more than a dozen other large customers.
