Planned protest called off

A planned Lush Cosmetics protest against the tar sands was quashed by Polo Park mall management today.

The protest, which was planned for 11 a.m., was to feature a Lush staff member wearing only an oil barrel and handing out postcards, addressed to the prime minister, urging the government to push for renewable and environmentally-friendly energy initiatives to replace the  tar sands.

About an hour before the protest, Polo Park mall management said no to the event.

Other Lush stores across Canada went ahead with the action today.
