Justice Minister Andrew Swan and police want you to click the "like" button on a new Manitoba Amber Alert Facebook page.
The page was promoted Thursday as a new way for Manitobans to get breaking information on a missing child.
"When a child goes missing, it’s absolutely necessary we get the word out fast," Swan said.
The Facebook page is called AMBER Alert Manitoba.
Swan said the page will be updated in the event a child goes missing, alerting Facebook users who’ve liked it.
Before Wednesday’s announcement, four people had liked it. By late afternoon, that number was up to about 600.
Manitoba issued its first Amber Alert in July 2010 at the request of police in Saskatchewan. The abducted child was safely located and a suspect arrested.
