RCMP have busted a marijuana grow operation near The Pas, seizing hundreds of plants and charging two people.
On Thursday, following a month-long investigation, RCMP raided the grow-op in the small community of Cormorant. The plants, all 247 of them, were being grown on Crown land.
A 48-year-old man from the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie was arrested at the scene and has been charged with production of marijuana and possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Search warrants were then executed at homes in Cormorant and La Broquerie, and a 46-year-old woman was arrested in Cormorant. She faces a possession charge.
Firearms were also seized from the homes in Cormorant and La Broquerie.
