RCMP investigate possible child abduction in Portage la Prairie

Though they don’t have much to go on, RCMP are investigating a potential child abduction situation in Portage la Prairie over the weekend.

The incident happened at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday night, when officers received a complaint of a possible abduction on 10th Street NW in Portage. It’s believed a child was picked up by someone driving a van or an SUV.

According to the RCMP, officers in Portage have conducted an extensive investigation into this matter and have not received any reports of a missing child in the community.

Anyone who witnessed a suspicious vehicle or witnessed an adult picking up a child in the area of 10th St. NW in Portage are asked to call Portage RCMP at (204) 857-4445 or your local police agency.
