RCMP vehicle involved in multi-vehicle accident

  • Print

A multi-vehicle crash involving an RCMP vehicle sent two cars into the ditch along Highway 7 near Stonewall Saturday afternoon.

Police stopped their pickup truck on the shoulder of the highway about 1 p.m. to check on a Chevrolet Impala that had driven into the ditch. Shortly after parking, a Pontiac Montana crashed into the back of their truck, forcing other vehicles to swerve around the scene to avoid a collision.

A Chevy Malibu ended up in the ditch, while three others veered around the accident site.

RCMP East District Traffic Service and local EMS responded to the scene. A male driving the Pontiac Montana received minor injuries.

Blowing snow and bad visibility were contributing factors, RCMP say.
