RCMP won't charge man over counterfeit $50 bill

The RCMP got their man, but they’re not going to charge him.

Steinbach RCMP said today that with the public’s help, they’ve tracked down the man who was captured on video surveillance trying to cash a counterfeit $50 bill April 25 at the Real Canadian Superstore in Steinbach.

However, they also said "no charges are being contemplated at this time."

They didn’t say why they aren’t charging him. However, when they released a photograph of the suspect last Sunday, they said they were looking for him because they though he might have information which could help them determine the origin of the counterfeit money.
