Red clear of ice to Winnipeg

The Red River is clear of ice from the United States border to the north side of Winnipeg, provincial officials said today.
Emergency Services Minister Steve Ashton said the Red River was at 19.05 feet James Street by mid-afternoon and was expected to drop even more when the ice is completely out of the city.
Ashton said provincial officials expect the ice to be north of the city limits sometime tonight.
Ashton said officials will be monitoring the effect on flooding by rain showers expected on Sunday and milder temperatures in the next few days on melting snow and ice.
But Ashton said ice is still jamming in the river in Selkirk and north of that city.
