Retired Winnipeg cop appointed to parole board

A retired Winnipeg police officer is one of the new appointments to the Parole Board of Canada.

Robert Marshall, a former Winnipeg Police Service officer with 27 years experience, is one of five people newly appointed to the parole board.

The announcements were made today by Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety.

Marshall, who has contributed writing to the Free Press, will be working with the parole board on a part-time basis.

Other appointments to the board include:

  • educator Mary Crane of Prince Edward Island,
  • Pauline Hodgkiss of Cambrige, Ont.,
  • Lina Lennon of Hepworth, Ont. and
  • Lubomyr Yaroslav Luciuk of Kingston, Ont.

Louis-Philippe McGraw, a lawyer from Moncton, was reappointed as the Board’s vice-chairperson.
