Robbers beat man cleaning his windshield then steal his vehicle
A St. Boniface man who was clearing his SUV’s windshield Friday morning was attacked by two men who then stole the vehicle.
Police said the attack occurred before 8 a.m. Friday in the first 100-block of Marlene Street.
A 59-year-old man was in his driveway scraping the windows of his Toyota 4Runner when he was approached by two men, one of them who asked him for the time.
When the owner looked down at his watch, he was beaten about his upper body and the two robbers drove off in the vehicle.
The victim was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Both robbers are described as Aboriginal men. One is 5’10", in his early 30s, weighing 180-190 lbs., with a stocky build and no facial hair. He was wearing a dark winter jacket.
The second man was 5’11", in his early 30s, weighing about 200 lbs and wearing a dark jacket.
The stolen vehicle is a 2004 Toyota 4Runner, grey in colour, with Manitoba licence ERJ 910.
