A Winnipeg couple is so touched by the recent deaths of Lisa Gibson and her two children that they’re organizing a fundraising run at Kildonan Park.
Brenda and Eddie Marion-Gerula will host a family run/walk, called Run for Mums, on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
It’s a fundraiser for the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba and a way to raise awareness of postpartum depression.
Gibson’s body was located the Red River last Saturday, three days after her children, Anna, 2 and Nicholas, three months, were found unresponsive in the bathtub of the family’s Westwood home.
She was reported to be suffering from a postpartum mental illness and had been seeking help.
The Run for Mums will be sponsored by the Running Room. Entry fee will be $20 a person and children under the age of 12 are free. Each runner/walker gets to pick how many laps they want to do around the park, to a maximum of 10.
