Runners taken to hospital

At least two participants in the Manitoba Marathon required serious medical attention and had to be removed from the course this morning.

Marathon medical director Ed Pilat confirmed that by 10 a.m. two racers had been removed from the course and taken to hospital.

Witnesses say that a male adult suffered a heart attack in the St. Vital portion of the course but race officials have yet to provide details.
