School bus driver charged after crash near Dufresne

The Winnipeg driver of a school bus involved in a three-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in November has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

The RCMP said the 40-year-old woman has been charged with a breach of Section 131 (4), proceeding before it’s safe to do so.

The collision occurred Nov. 24, at the junction of PR 207 near Dufresne.

Police said the southbound bus was crossing the Trans-Canada when it collided with two eastbound pickup trucks.

There were no passengers on the school bus at the time of the collision.

The drivers of the pickup trucks were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
