Scotties final features Overton-Clapham vs. Carey

ALTONA — Cathy Overton-Clapham is playing Chelsea Carey for a Manitoba women's curling championship here in the provincial final Sunday at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
The match is just underway.

Overton-Clapham advanced to the final with a 7-3 win over Springfield’s Karen Rosser in the semifinal this afternoon.
Carey has already beaten Overton-Clapham once today — dropping the defending Canadian champion 7-6 in the page playoff 1 vs 1 game this morning.
Meanwhile, Cheryl Bernard was eliminated in the Alberta playdowns this morning. The 2010 Olympic silver medallist gave up an extra end steal to lose the Alberta semifinal 7-6 to Edmonton’s Heather Nedohin.
Nedohin will now face Calgary’s Shannon Kleibrink in the Alberta final.
In other provincial playdowns this afternoon, Ottawa’s Rachel Homan is playing Thunder Bay’s Krista McCarville in the Ontario final, while Therea Breen is playing Heather Smith-Dacey in the Nova Scotia final.
And in Saskatchewan, it’s Cindy Ricci playing Amber Holland in the semifinal, with the winner advancing to play Stefanie Lawton in the final.
In other curling news, Winnipeg’s Jennifer Jones won the Karuizawa International Curling Championship in Japan today, dropping the hosts 8-4 in the final.
And in Oshawa, Winnipeg’s Mike McEwen is leading Ontario’s Glenn Howard 4-1 through six ends at the final of the $100,000 Canadian Open.
