A security guard was stabbed in a downtown bus shack late Tuesday.

A security guard was stabbed in a downtown bus shack late Tuesday.

A security guard is in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in a downtown bus shack late Tuesday.

About 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to Portage Place mall.

 According to police, the  24-year-old mall security guard was patrolling the area when he found a male loitering in the bus shack. The security guard asked the male to leave, but he refused and confronted the guard.

 The guard tried to restrain the male, who pulled out a knife and stabbed the guard in the upper body. He then fled the area.

 The male is described as a Caucasian, between 16 and 18 years old, about 5’5 tall. He was wearing dark blue jeans and black shoes.
