Ridiculous! There are only a million or so people in Manitoba. Add to this list the managers and elected officials of the city of Winnipeg and other municipalities. So much overlap of responsibility. So much waste of money. So little talent. We should change the provincial slogan to “Manitoba – where we save you from yourself”

Wow! Seems like there are more ministers than back-benchers and this can't be good for the taxpayers' pocketbooks. Why can't the Minister of Education also take the 'Advanced Ed & Literacy' portfolio. There are multiple examples where the cabinet could have been reduced to 13 or 14 ministers, AT THE MOST, possibly even fewer than that.
When the Leg. sits for so few days each year, (there seems to be more breaks than there are days in the house) this would give the ministers with double portfolios ample time to do a better than average job on their duties.
C'mon Mr. Selinger, do the right and responsible thing and pare down this unruly cabinet.

Who is responsible for the not-for-profit organizations in Manitoba and all the volunteers that keep these programs and services alive? Point of clarification, Greg Dewar is an MLA and yes, he is intelligent.

Chomiak innovative????????????This guy is dead from the nose down, he could have been replaced with another inteligent MP, the one and only Greg Dewar.

I am so happy that Kerri Irvin-Ross has been removed from the Healthy Living portfolio. She has provided no direction in the addictions field - in fact, she has created mass confusion due to her lack of awareness of the issues (not to mention her disrespect). Good luck to her in her new position.
We were celebrating Minister Rondeau today - hopefully he will be able to clean up the mess that she has left...and give us hope. At the very least if he can define "healthy living" (unlike his predecessor) we are way ahead of the game!

Strategically....well done Premier Selinger. Ms. Irvin-Ross is an interesting choice for Housing portfolio. Big challenges there especially when the NDP has been captured by an inept Bureaucracy in that portfolio. We think she will rise to the challenge and build community partnerships rather than the smoke and mirror announcements that have had the public scratching their heads over the past few years.
The next step is the changing of the Guard with DM's and ADM's. We think Premier Selinger will be involved and engaged with this crucial process. Remember where you came from and how you got there Premier. It is a new era and has promise of the best era historically for citizens of Manitoba. Balance has been Gary Doer's mantra over the years....Premier Selinger has the opportunity to make that phrase of "Balance" ring with sincerity minus the sports analogy and a toothy grin.

both opposition parties have said that Manitoba shouldn't need more than 13 or 14 ministers to run things and for once I agree.
