Sunday semi-trailer blaze causes $300K worth of damage

Fire crews say a weekend semi-trailer fire caused $300,000 in damages.
Winnipeg police and fire crews are investigating what caused several semi-trailers full of cardboard to catch fire around 4:40 a.m. Sunday morning in the 600 block of Wall Street.
Police said emergency responders located a van that appeared to have collided with two detached semi-trailers. A fire started, which spread to surrounding semi-trailers. The vehicle and six semi-trailers were damaged as a result of the fire.
No one was injured and police said they have not determined how the van came into contact with the semi-trailers.
The arson strike force is investigating, and has asked anyone with information about the incident to contact investigators at 986-6813 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS(8477).
The investigation continues.
