Canada’s national weather service issued a watch for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening throughout southwestern Manitoba.
The storm clouds could carry large hail and heavy downpours, particularly to areas near the American border. The risk of tornadoes is slight.
And some of the thunderstorm activity gathering along a trough line near the Saskatchewan border could become severe, the weather service warns.
"If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions," the weather service advises.
The weather service advised to listen for bulletins to be updated from watches to warnings.
