Sex assault alleged at Brandon Cemetery

  • Print

BRANDON -- Sex assault charges have been laid in Brandon after an incident reported in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon.

A 20-year-old woman told police she was chased through the Brandon Cemetery, then knocked to the ground by her assailant, who exposed himself and made sexual advances on her, before running off when she screamed.

Officers couldn't find the suspect anywhere in the area.

However, two-and-a-half hours later, a man matching the suspect's description was spotted driving a vehicle on Braecrest Drive. After pulling him over and questioning him, the suspect was arrested.

A 25-year-old Shilo man is to appear in court on May 27, on a charge of sexual assault.
