Sex offender returning to Winnipeg

A sex offender with a history of attacking strangers will be released from Stony Mountain today, and will be living back in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Police Service released a public notification that 45-year-old Luigi Deangelis has finished an 18-month sentence for a court breach.

Police said Deangelis is considered a high risk to re-offend and that "all adult females are at risk of sexual violence."

His offences include attacks on women, and he has been convicted of sexual assault, criminal harassment, indecent phone calls, committing an indecent act and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Deangelis is described as being 5’8 and about 200 pounds. He has dark brown hair and hazel eyes, and is Caucasian.

 

 Deangelis has been designated a as long-term offender, and isn’t allowed to drink alcohol. He is required to take sex offender programming and live in a community correctional centre, which has to return to each night. He's also required to report all relationships with women to his parole officers.
