Shooting suspect finally arrested

A man wanted in connection with a shooting back in February was arrested this week.

Winnipeg Police said officers took Sheldon David Contois, 19, into custody Wednesday without incident.

Contois was wanted for his alleged involvement in a shooting in the early hours of Feb. 22 in an apartment building on Talbot Avenue.

Police found Contois in the area of Sanford Fleming Road and Plessis Road.

The charges against Contois include: robbery with a weapon, several firearm related offences and eight outstanding warrants.

Contois has been detained at the provincial remand centre.
