Shots allegedly fired by distraught Brandon man

One man is in custody after allegedly firing a weapon at the southern edge of Brandon.

RCMP say that the man, described as distraught, was taken into custody late Friday morning by Brandon Police Service officers, who were first on the scene.

There are reports that up to four shots were fired from the home, located just outside the city of Brandon limits, near where First Street meets Highway 110.

Officers were called to the home late Friday morning, and the man, who was about to leave the home, was taken into custody quickly and without incident, police say.

There were no reports of injuries. A firearm was recovered from the scene.

A 47-year-old man remains in custody, and police continue to investigate. No further details have been released.
