Siloam Mission is proposing an $30.5 million expansion downtown by adding a nine-storey assisted living building and a four-storey one for front line services.
Floyd Perras, Siloam’s executive director, said today that he has asked the city for $4 million towards the project and they are hoping the rest will come from other levels of government and private donations.
"It’s very exciting," Perras said.
"It would be great to think we could be started on this during this calendar year."
Perras said the land for the project has already been assembled in the area around its current 300 Princess St. facility.
